Coco Gauff (20 years old and 6 WTA) and Brad Gilbert (63 years old) announced that they have ended their collaboration after 14 months in which the American managed to win the US Open trophy in 2023, but the recent results have not was at the desired level.
Coco Gauff and Brad Glbert announced through two messages on social networks that they will end the collaboration that began last year in August.
The decision comes after a series of negative results this summer: eliminations in the round of 16 at Wimbledon, at the Paris Olympics, at the WTA 1,000 tournament in Toronto and at the US Open, where she was the reigning champion, as well as elimination from the first tour at the WTA 1,000 tournament in Cincinnati.

Prior to this summer’s results, the partnership between the two had materialized in successes in Cincinnati and the US Open in 2023. Then at the start of the 2024 season, the 20-year-old won the title in Auckland for the seventh consecutive year, then reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and Roland Garros., reaching world No. 2 in early June.
Prior to his coaching career, Brad Gilbert, 63, reached the quarterfinals as a player at the US Open in 1987 and at Wimbledon in 1990, a year in which he reached No. 4 in the world, the highest ranking in his career.
